Many IT administrators are currently experiencing issues accessing the Microsoft Admin Center. The outage appears to be caused by an expired TLS certificate, leading to significant disruptions. Various Microsoft 365 and Azure management portals are affected worldwide.

Cause: Expired Certificate

Since around 10:30 a.m. CEST, the Microsoft Admin Center has been unavailable or only partially accessible. When attempting to connect, browsers display certificate warnings because the certificate in use is valid only for *.azureedge.net, not for affected domains such as *.microsoft.com.

The Azure portal and other management interfaces also show blank pages or fail to respond. Microsoft has confirmed the incident on its Service Health page.

Impact on Operations

End-user services such as Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online continue to operate normally. However, administrators currently have limited access to management functions. Tasks such as device onboarding via Intune or changes to security settings are partially blocked.

The outage affects administrators globally, regardless of tenant region or data center location.

Current Status

Microsoft reports that it is working urgently to resolve the issue (Reference code: MO1168665). Updates on the current status are available on the official status page at status.cloud.microsoft.com.
